Talens
A talen is a single-use item with a spirit temporarily bound into it. Spending one Gnosis awakens it. See Rules for crafting requirements and limitations.
W20 Approved Talens
The following talens are from the W20 core rulebook and are available for player characters to create, subject to the talen-making rules on the Rules page and ST approval.

| Moon Glow | 8 | A moonbeam caught in crystal; carried during an Umbral journey, it wards off incidental danger until the destination is reached. Requires a Lune to create. |
| Moon Sign | 5 | A wax seal bearing the full moon's sign; thrown before any werewolf, the target must succeed on a Willpower roll (diff 7) or immediately shift to Lupus. Works on Black Spiral Dancers and other Fera. |
| Nightshade | 5 | One ounce of distilled night; when quaffed, renders the imbiber virtually invisible in darkness for up to one hour. |
| Wind Snorkel | 3 | A hollow tube with a bound air elemental; supplies breathable air in any environment for as long as it is held in the mouth or muzzle. |

Appearance
A large luna moth, wings folded at rest. Preserved perfectly without amber, resin, or mount. The wings are pale sage and cream. The eyespots are deep gold. It sheds a faint luminescent dust when handled, coating fingers in cold silver light that fades within seconds.
Activation
Hold it to your chest in the Umbra and release it. It flies a slow circle around the activating Garou and dissolves into motes.
Effect
Restores Gnosis to full. The dust clings to fur or skin for the remainder of the scene. Hostile spirits must make a Willpower roll (difficulty 6) before attacking the Garou unprovoked. They are not compelled toward friendliness. They hesitate.
Notes
Umbra use only. Activating this talen on the material side has no effect.

Appearance
A monarch butterfly, dried and perfect, wings spread open with no board or mount beneath them. No fraying, no dust, no damage. The specimen quality is precise beyond what nature produces. The black veining traces a pattern no monarch carries, deliberate and exact, as if Gaia signed her work. Warm to the touch.
Activation
Crush it gently in both palms. It crumbles to fine orange and black dust that drifts upward rather than falling, slow, and is gone.
Effect
Restores Willpower to full. For the remainder of the scene, the first time the Garou would fail a Delirium roll, frenzy check, or fear-based roll, they may reroll once.
Notes
Material side use only. The dust rises regardless of wind or weather.
- Awarded to both packs upon completion of the Vail Mine cleansing. These talens cannot be crafted. They are not traded. Spirit type is unknown.
